Overview
When the UK’s oldest working cinema opened in 1909 it took 5 years to train a projectionist; a century later it takes less than an hour. This docu-film charts the history of independent cinema focusing on the untold story of The Electric in Birmingham from its silent beginnings to its recent restoration. The film goes on to explore the rapid advance of digital cinema and the likely demise of 35mm film.
